Angry WHAT'S MY MATE DONE WRONG?

My mate did a full engine transplant for me(motec ecu's)(sti 5 type r)last week, but since then my cars spedometer has reverted back to kmph..The car the engine came out of had also been converted to mph so we are at a loss to explain???
Has anyone else encountered this problem? The car isn't restricted to 112kmph...
Please someone out there help...it is doing my head in

did he transplant the gearbox too? The V5 jap imports often have the converter box in the loom that goes from the transfer box at the back of the gearbox to the multi plug up by the clutch slave cylinder. My guess is that is now bee replaced with a normal one.
