Do I need an uprated fuel pump?
Having a de-cat downpipe fitted at Scoobclinic next week, the re-map will be following very shortly afterwards.
Just wanting to know if the standard fuel pump will be ok at the moment with just a full de-cat and re-map, or do I need to uprate it before I get the re-map done?
MY00 uk turbo
Cheers

Depends how important it is to save £100, the cost of a new Walbro pump that you could fit yourself.
If the existing pump is not tired it will do the job OK.
If you want belt and braces then fit the pump now and have the car mapped with it.
So probably not essential but probably preferable.

Matt: See the thread below and Rob G's detailed instructions how to do the job.
I think the pump is about £95, from AS Performance, inc postage but Scooby Clinic probably have a similar price as will others.
Even if you are new to working on the Scoob, this is a relatively easy job. Best done with a lowish fuel level.

To be honest, I could do without having to buy one at the moment..funds stretched with my plans.
No signs that the old one is on it's way out, so might have to get one when the bank balance has settled a bit.
