Default Responsive when cold

I have a WRX 1997 import, which is standard. Now I am not sure if this is normal but when I first get in the car from cold in the morning the car drives very responsive below the turbo kicking in but when it warms up this responsiveness goes away. The car still feels ok and drives fine when thrashing it. Is this the turbo lag and if so how come it’s not so bad when cold? Also could this be due to the cold air in the morning. I have just replaced MAF, Coil pack, HT Leads, and Sparks. Also the boost solenoid is cleaned and working fine.

Any ideas as I have never owned a Scooby before and don’t know what feels normal and what doesn’t.

Thanks

Yep probably the cold morning air,I've been taking the missis to work this week at around 5am,Nice 12 or 13 mile trip there drop her off and then on the way back engines nice and warm and im on my own with this nice cold damp, misty morning air,It really does make a difference to turbo'd cars.

It only feels resposive for the first 5 min until the engine starts to get warm. Could this be a dodge Lamba sensor and if so what are the simptoms of a faulty lamba sensor

Could be the slightly richer cold start mixture giving you a more "torquey" feel off boost. Trouble is, you can't (shouldn't!) take advantage of it with a cold engine. It's very important not to go into any real boost on a turbo engine until it's nice and warm.

I'm a new Turbo owner (previously had a Sport) and mine does exactly the same as yours, much more noticeable now it's colder

As JohnD says it will be because it runs rich for the first few minutes and feels really torquey.
