Question Those with Hybrid fmic fitted to pre96 cars?

Which dump valve have you used? vta or recirculating.
What/how did you get around the dv connection point from the Hybrid alloy piping, which has a larger diameter fitting to that of the original snorkel turbo air inlet pipe (smaller dia fitting)
Ive managed to source various diameter/length hoses but it looks all a bit ott.
Are there any neater/simple solutions.
Pictures would be a bonus?

Thanks Ticky

I went for a forge recirc (MY97-8 type), 25mm Samco will push-fit over the DV connection on the turbo intake pipe.

You need:
Samco 35mm elbow (hybrid pipework to DV in)
Samco 35mm to 25mm straight reducer (DV out)
Approx 400mm of 25mm pipe (to the OE intake pipe)

It works well

Just to add you could use your OE DV in its OE position, then buy a 35mm to 25mm reducing elbow, then use 25mm pipe to run it to the DV.

That would be the simplest cheapest way if you want to stay recirc

Please check the size of the outlet on the Intercooler first, Mine which is a proper Hybrid one not a copy has a 38mm pipe. I used a 38mm to a 25mm reducer on a Bailey VTA dump valve.

Thanks for all the replys guys.

I am not really keen on the vta type dv as I am still using maf, Ive currently got a 97/98 hks ssqv which was removed some time ago when the car was standard. Now I have mananged to source a recirculating kit for so I might try it again.
Btw my fmic was purchased sometime ago (Harvey, groupbuy)

Thanks for the pictures.
I might even try the easier option by using the original dv, just need to find the hoses.
I think I only need the Samco 35mm to 25mm straight reducer (DV out) as I have already got the rest if I stick to the hks ssqv.
Did you have any issue with the spring etc in the forge dv.
Were did you get the reducer hose from?

I got a 38mm to 25mm 90degree reducer off ebay, think it was about £15. (see pic)
Was using a Forge VTA but could not get it work perfectly as the car would stutter badly when on part throttle. Even bought a spring and shim kit for it.
Have now changed to an OE recirculating one (£5 off ebay ) which works a treat.

Hi Andy,

Quote "Have now changed to an OE recirculating one (£5 off ebay ) which works a treat."

Is that the original pre96 dv or 97/98
If you used the pre96 what hose did you use to reconnect the dv to its original position.

Thanks Ticky
