Default Anyone had STI9 SB fitted @ Powerstation?

My P1 is booked in for a sti9 shortblock conversion on my P1 on saturday ( Big ends obviously ).

Has anyone had this done yet?? How long was the turn around? Any general comments/Problems/finished cost?

First work i've had done there, it all looks very proffessional, but i am yet to find out so just looking for some more info.

Powerstation do all of our mechanical work and they probably have at least 1 or 2 engine rebuilds in a week for joe public.

They prepared all the cars that we have had featured in various magazine reviews.

They have also just built 2 of the fastest Subaru/jap cars at the recent Tuner GP, winning the 2,000-3,000cc class in a MY06 Spec C that was built in under a week.

Your in safe hands.

Great stuff matey!!!

You'll have to post up when you get it done and let us know how it went! I think if my P1 engine goes that will be the road Ill be going down. New age bottom ends seem much more reliable!

I thought the new age bottom ends were more reliable until I saw a 2002 UK STi in at Powerstation this week due to a rod coming through the block.

You are in good hands at Powerstation though, good knowledgeable mechanics who know there stuff.

Which pistons are in the engine that they plan to fit? - Hypereutectic or Forged?

It will make a difference to how much detonation your motor can resist

You can't go wrong with Powerstation.

I was there today with my mate, and we both had remaps done.

All I can say is that we are very very happy with the results and had a very nice drive home !

Hypereutectic, I think.

I'm happy with my Powerstation STI 8/9 bottom end, the only thing I did need was a remap as I was getting some det.

I hope i dont have to pay for a remap too, im really streched having to pay for it as of now. I am also having the Bump steer mod and alignment done, seemed to have alot of understeer before so i cant wait to see what its like when i have it back.

How long did they have your car for? im hoping to have it back on saturday.
