is this what i hope it is?
hi there,
my car is ticking over funny and seems a bit hesitant in 1st and 2nd.....did a fault check and came up with 24
is the pic at the bottom the "idle air control solenoid" ?
if so......can this be removed and cleaned easily? it looks like it can be adjusted by twisting it......should i be careful of moving it? i dont want to take it off until i know i cant mess it up.

Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Badly drawn scoob
Yes it is the air idle control valve
If you can see the four bolts behind it...........undo them and take it off the manifold, give it a clean.Take the surrounding pipes off etc etc..........then look in the hole in the manifold and you should see a plastic circle bung.....pull that out and give it a clean...........just be careful with the gasket as you take everything off
Does that answer you query????
