Default Engine Problems

Hello,

I've noticed that when the car (P1) is idling the revs sometimes drop. Also, the engine cut out on me yesterday when waiting at the lights! Thats the first time that has happened. I've had the car for approx 3/4 weeks. Any ideas or clues as to what I need to do regarding the rev issue?

Thanks

Sound's like MAF, do a search loads on this subject.

Also check your ECU for any faults http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co....iag%20Page.htm

Yep, get a new green spot MAF, that'll sort it.

Hiya

Aslo, drive it off boost till you get it sorted, if it is the MAF and you rag it, you could **** your engine!

Know what the problem is now! I need a new Air Mass Meter. Took it to my local Subaru dealership and the engineer diagnosed that as being the fault. Also, need new rear shocks...sheesh! Beginning to regret buying the car now

The MAF should be treated as a consumable on MY99s MY00s it's a known weakness. It's not that pricey (about £80). As for the rear shocks, again, nothing too major!

This really puts you of the car? It is 6 years old, don't forget, and will have been driven hard, what did you expect?
