Noticed the check engine on permanently with the apexi, and the car would not boost over 1.2 bar. The cel light will go out if you press the throttle but still wont go over 1.2 bar and comes back on once you lift off. Car normally boosts to 1.35 bar. any ideas would be appreciated. car is a 97 sti 3.

The pre97 Apexi throw a CEL if boost is set over 1.0bar and boost control option is on.
However with your car being version 3 this is capable of controlling boost to 1.7bar using the standard sensor.... so that shouldn't be the problem.
No connectors have come lose under the bonnet have they? Have you switched the boost option on by mistake? If the boost is say set to 1.2 bar in the commander menu with the boost option on but the avc-r is controlling the boost a CEL will come on as it thinks it's overboosting.
Tony.

What about here:
You may have the later dash but the mounting thing i used is also avaliable for the later style dash. It's a Brodit Proclip, designed for PDA and mobile phone holders to be screwed on. They are tailored to each car so fit really well rather than the universal fit rubbish and just happens to be the perfect size to velcro the commander on

Did mine a cheap skate way
Take the clip off the back of an air freshener that clips to the heater vents.
Unscrew the back off the commander, Drill a small hole through ( around 3mm ).
Pop rivet the clip to the back off the commander, using a small rivet.
Should look something like this..
Fits a treat and is very solid, so will never fall off.
Also , No need to drill the dash which is a bonus..

Got mine from via the internet:
Handnav
Next day delivery too.
No need to drill the dash with these either, they just clip on and use existing screws. Rather than messing about drilling stuff etc spend the £15... treat yourself
