Default Changing MAF sensor help

Hi

Well I came back from holiday and changed the battery. (alarm problems etc but now sorted) Afterreplacing battery I'm getting erratic idling, where at idle the revs rise then drop down to almost stalling then back up and down. I've done a search and believe it's the MAF sensor. Now I have one ordered but need to find out how and where it is to replace. Ive searched (believe me I've searched!!) but still can't find a how to guide or some pics of where it is.

Any links to anywhere? or a step by stepguide? Please?

Thanks

Oliver

what year is the car ?

i presume it's of the 99/00 era

the maf is in the intake hose between the airbox and intake pipe, before the turbo.

found a pic on my car - plug is in the middle of the photo.
remove and undo 2 security torx screws and pull it out. easy as that

I did mine last week and it is probably the easiest job there is on a Scoob.
.Take the plug off (a bit fiddly but not too hard)
. Undo the two T20 torx security screws (bits available from Halfords and all good motor accessory shops-don't forget to specify torx SECURITY bits)
. Wriggle the sensor about a little whilst pulling it out.
. Replacement is the same only in reverse.
. Most folks advise resetting the ecu afterwards.

There's a good thread on P1WOC http://p1woc.co.uk/postnuke/index.ph...ing+maf+sensor
