cooling fan not working pls help

cooling fan not working pls help
my wrx only has one cooling fan shouldnt they have two?? also never actually seen it come on altho the car has never overheated it sits bout halfway during driving but can go up to threee quarters if sitting in traffic, any ideas how to check fan or what it could be if not working. many thanks in advance

the fuse is marked in the fuse box just behind the battery under the bonnet.. probably blown..
temp gauge should rise from cold to half and remain there.
