Default Smokes like Buggery on start up.

Getting quite a large cloud of white smoke on start up. I guess its burning a little bit of oil. I used to get it before my re build if I had given it a hard run the previous time I had use it.

I have a fully forged engine now if that makes any difference?

Cheers

Could be very slightly due to bore clearance, but also, were the heads rebuilt with new valve guides and stem seals, cos that sounds like oil getting down the valve stems to me, but i wouldn't have expected it so much on a boxer engine...??

Could it be the forged pistons? I read somewhere that you get a side leak inbetween piston and cylinder until the pistons have warmed up and expanded. I wouldnt have thought it would be enough to create smoke on start up though

What was the reason for getting forged pistons, was it a damaged engine? Are you using the same block or new?
Did you get standard size pistons or oversize? Could possiblty be that you need oversize.

Condensation in the exhaust? More noticeable on cold mornings. Oil smoke is usually blue

I had the engine built after Number 2 Piston was holed on two sides. I used the origional block but had it bored to second oversize with pistons to match so they should be perfect fit.

As for condensation I cant really see it being that is its quite a bit cloud just in start up even if I have already run the car that day.

Still puzzling

Thanks for all your suggestions guys the help is my appriciated!
