Default Walboro fuel pump fitting advice

I know there are other threads re this and I have read a lot of them but there seems to be a certain amount of contradictory info re what to do with the small black resister thing on the fuel pump harness.

Some say this is to stop sparks, some say it is to limit to 9v on cruise/idle and I have also heard that all it does is to stop the pump interfering with radio reception in the AM band.

So should I connect the two wire from the resistor to the pump or not.

If the wires do need connecting do i just splice them into the loom supplied with the walboro pump? the pump wires are blue and black as are the wires on the resistor I assume it bule with blue and black with black!

Thanks

I have already looked at mine and it has four wires! Two wires to the loom and two to the littles black resistor thing mounted on the support bracket. Its the two that go to the resistor thing that worry me as the other two are supplied with the pump.

If some have the resistor thing and some dont then that might support the idea thats it just an anti interferance device for the radio rather then anything more important???

OK then, I will fit the pump and splice two resistor wires (or what ever they are- would have been nice to now what they do though) into the new wires supplied by walboro.

If you hear about a tragic accident where someone is burned alive when their impreza turns into a ball of flames you will no what happened!
