Strange noise as revs drop through 3000
I get a strange noise as the revs drop and always as the revs go through 3000. This only happens on the way down, never up. It happens if your driving and the car is in gear but dropping through 3k or even in neutral when stationary and you rev it. Sounds a bit like a vibration or air escaping. The exhaust doesn't appear to be blowing but i did wonder if the cat could cause this?, any ideas???

OK, Its definately exhaust related. Parked it in the garage and blipped the throttle. There is no blowing at all but the noise is definately coming from the exhaust. Gonna put it up on the lift tomorrow to have a proper look under. The exhaust sheild looks OK from up top. Hopefully will know more tomoz.
