Default Wrong fitment holes, UK vs STi

Tried to fit a 98 STi two pot rear caliper to my UK MY00 yesterday, turns out the the holes are different! about two inches wider than the UK mounting holes.

I thought that they where the same across all classics but apparantly not. I guess I will be needing one from a 99/00 model then or do all the STi's have different mounting holes to the UK versions?
