Unhappy backfire?

my car seems to have a small backfire everytime i change gear!!!! iv'e changed the plugs recently so i can't be them,any ideas???

ahhh really? mine was fitted by the previous owner and does get on my **** now and again! will it cause any problems/damage?

Can do - if you still have any cats fitted it is possible for a large backfire to damage them.

iv'e got a full de-cat which would explain why the tailpipe is constantly black!

why does this happen? is it to do with overfueling,i'monly getting about 120 miles to a tank full?

Your exhaust is always going to get black and dirty, whether yours is getting filthy quickly is hard to tell on here.

120 miles from a tank is bloody low though. If you've still got your std dv then put it back on and see what happens.

unfortunatly i dont have the standard DV! (oh crap)
