I have a 94 impreza wrx import and when I am comming to a stop after just driving at normal speeds the engine backfires and obvioustly gives off a huge bang or two. I have had the exhaust inspected and there are no holes but the sound is still there,

Could this be something to do with the fuel not getting burned off properly, I used to have the same issue when I used to race motocross and the mixtures and ratio was not tuned correctly,

Any feedback would be apreciated

 

Whats the problem, it sounds perfect You just need to makesure there are flames to accompany the bangs

Mine used to do that..until I took the VTA dump valve off and returned to the OE one.

Lots of fuel sloshing around may be good for flames/pops/bangs but heard about cases of bore wash which isn't good.

mate, that is what you wanna hear on a scooby!!, my STi III does exatcly same, H&S full decat etc...minute it gets hot my version 3 cant stop!

 

MY 98 pops away when it's hot the misses hates it, but it's not her car so who cares.

 

i have a full h&s decat and dumpvalve. i love the way it pops and bangs, gives that extra 'rally' feeling
