Default Slanty to STI I/C

Thinkin of changin my slanty i/c to a STI jobbie , Read a few threads on here about fittin dont seem that bad to do.

But what i wanted to know is will it effect fuel/air ratio ? will it run lean ? will it need a remap?

I've just done the same job. It didn't take any where near as long as I expected. As for air flow, if you havn't upt the boost, then the same amount of air is going into the manifolds. Its just cooler and less restricted. I may be wrong. When I did mine, my biggest problem was getting somone to weld up the dump valve pipe on the new one. I put a V4 ic on a V2. If you have any probs, send me an email

DaveC1 - what did you do about mountings? the 3 mounts are well off for the new intercooler. although it looks like it's such a tight fit that it won't matter if it's bolted down or not

You could use some cardboard to make templates for the brackets & then make them from some cheap metal?
But like you said, its a tight fit & hardly moves.
At first I did not have any brackets made up & the only time I got the tmic hitting the bulkhead was on the clutch judder. So I made some brackets but it made do difference

I agree. Its a bloody tight fit and I ran for quite a while without brakets. Made a couple now just with some bits of metal like ticky says. Just get the bugger on and worry bout it l8r. Have you got the under bonnet coweling. Sombody might sell one if they've ad a front mount. There was one on ebay a while back. If you can make a bit of a heat shield between ic and exhaust manifold that would be good. I've done a crude one. I'll do somthig better one day. Let me know when you've got it on. I'm hoping to add water injection next
