Default Exhaust pop..?

Just been out for a run and had a little blast (first for a while) giving it some beans in second to around 6k and on the change up to 3rd (not sure exactly when, I think as I popped third and back on the gas..?) heard a slight, muffled pop from rear of car (BB..?). Does this sound right..?

I've had cars that have popped and banged in the past, usually on the run down (~mid rev range) with a trailing throttle, but never heard it in my scoob before..! I know some do, but as mentioned, I thought you only got it as just said, ie. not when giving it some..!

05 WRX Full Decat, Green panel, STI TMIC, Tek3 etc...

Any comments appreciated,
Jason

Hot exhaust, extra fuel that ignites in there and pop.

Yeah, I understand that, it's just I've never experienced it on full chat gear changes.

It's the de-cat exhaust that allows the popping. My son had a Saxo and with the CAT on there was no popping - but take it off and it popped like a good 'un.

I love the popping sound.

Might have been a flame at those revs. I saw a nice flame out the back of mine when it was on a rolling road and he backed off near the rev limiter

And no it doesnt have a flamer kit

I have a full decat and at full throttle it does pop and bang from time to time, my friend was following me and i floored it in second changed to third and it was if a gun shot went off, he says he saw a flame shoot out and i too have no flamer kit nor the desire to spit flames but i cant see it anyway so who cares, plus it is just extra police attention a 20 year old scoob driver dos not need

though you're unlikely to be flooring it when police are around anyway

Mine pops and bangs all the time since I fitted a VTA DV. I still have the centre cat but it still does it. Hopefully when I remove the centre cat it will get more interesting

This may well of been the case as the Audi that was on my **** (hence the reason for booting) just fell away. Maybe he shat himself..!

Thanks for the replys, I didn't realise that you could get this on full chat gear changes. Feel better now.
