Re-circulating Valve vs Dump Valve?

Re-circulating Valve vs Dump Valve?
I was thinking of getting a dump valve (Maybe Blitz) to reduce any turbo lag i get but quite a few people have said that they're not worth it. Plus i hear that they can stall your engine and generally be bit of a pain.
So is a re-circulating valve a better option?
And if so what should i be looking for? Forge or something?

No problems with the standard one. Just looking for ways to get a bit more out of my scooby.
What about air filters then? I've seen a blitz one thats suppose to give about 10bhp more.
Or are there other things to get more power. (I've already got the pro-drive upgrade)

Std DV (recirc) is good enough for over 350bhp, fitting a vent to atmos. will effect the AFR (ie not good)..!
good start is fitting a free flowing (not overly oiled) panel air filter (note not inducton kit as again oem intake is very good up to and over 350bhp). Also decatting the exhust and ideally mapped to exploite (sp?) these basic mods should give very good results (typically between 30 to 50 bhp and a healthy dose of torque)
Note decatting the exhaust will mean MOT issues with emmissions..! Unless you refit one or more of the cats or (ideally..!) know a friendly MOT station

The first two things I did to mine: de-cat and HKS SSQV. Wouldnt do it any different if I was to do it again.
Stalling etc only happens with cheap or badly set-up ones.
Its not going to give you any extra power but I much perfer the drive with one.
Cant advise you of whether to get an induction kit or not as I dont know your model/year.

I know dump valve won't give me any more power but doesn't it get rid off any turbo lag as you accelerate up through the gears?
Thats the only reason i was thinking of getting one. Not for the sound!
Panel Air Filter? Any recomendations?
My scooby's a '05 WRX Pro-drive

I presume you mean you've got an 05 wrx PPP..?
If so you probably ain't going to notice a lot of difference in performance unless you change to a bigger turbo/injectors etc... decatting would help, although you would need a remap to be on the safe side. All this will rendering your warranty void and make the fact that you've got PPP a waste of money..!
By all means fit a decent panel filter (shouldn't really cause any warranty issues as it's easy to swap back if you need to claim.) I've fitted a Green and I'm happy with it, but don't expect it to improve the power, it won't..! Just better air flow.
If your scoob is still fairly new (ie <5000 miles) then it really is still very tight and you will notice a big difference in performance once it's got 5k+ on it. They don't really loosen up until you've got 10k+ on the clock..! So if I was you I'd wait and see, this is one reason why it's advised not to have PPP until 6k, although most have it done at first service, but IMHO you do not see the benefit of having it until the car has loosend up..!

Cheers for that.
Does seem like the right thing as it's fairly new. got just over 4k on the clock!
Just get use to the power so easily!!!
Fitting a quick shift this weekend so hopefully that'll keep me happy for a while.
Green filter?
Is that a make or do i just get it from any dealer?
