Either your ECU is wrong or your car is not an STI 2. U8s' are from 93/94 WRX cars with 240ps and a boost target of 11.47psi. A boost gauge would be handy to see what it currently maxes out at

Could be an opportunity (or excuse) to get an Apexi P-FC.

They come up from time to time but make sure it's the right one for your car i.e, pre MY97. There's an Andy F group buy on at the moment. Good price, good kit and bloody good mapper

Your correct in thinking that the V2 Sti has 6K on the ecu causing. I know another member who has the same 6k ecu on his v2 sti, well maybe no more.
I think the v2 sti type ra has a 7K on the ecu casing.

Or somebody has changed the ecu on your car, possibly using the earlier ecu's & having a remapped chip.
Just open the casing it may have a scoobyecu chip inside?

Also, check your VIN code here,

http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm

it'll tell you what model car you have.

They do have red inlet's. I think your getting confused with the version 1 sti.

Matt even if you did have the 6K it would not be ideal for uk fuel, unless used with octane booster.
Mine currently has been remapped for uk fuel with a scuba ecu chip (Scott's)

Some did have red inlet manifolds and some did not.

The full production of the STI model did not start until 1997 and from that point forward all STI inlet manifolds were red

My friends has a version 2 with a red top engine but mine has a silver top engine
