Default PPP with full decat

Hello all,
Does anyone have the above setup? at the moment I have a decat centre pipe, afterburner exhaust and prodrive ECU, having a decat down and up pipe fitted on Saturday, is this going to be silly loud and also will this increase, adversely affect performance??

thanks,

Mike

The bloke I bought my PPP car off said he tried it but it ran like a bag of ****e! Maybe something to do with the ECU. So now I only run a decat centre.

Full decat PPP WRX MY03, initially with Prodrive full exhaust, next with full scoobysport decat system and now with scoobysport up/downpipes-factory center-STI back box-AVO turbo inlet hose-USDM STI fuel pump and STI TMIC.
Car runs fine in all cases although with full scoobysport I had more than 101% injector duties for a very short rpm range witch isn't healthy for the engine in extreme conditions.
About 245ps ATW measured with DeltaDash and 100RON fuel (I guess this is more or less 285ps at the flywheel?), not so bad for the above mods ah?

Looking to do the same with a MY00 PPP with a full Blitz Nur Spec system. Some have said will drive like a pig, others said it would be fine.

I currently have been booked in for the de-cat but thinking of pulling out as can't afford a re-map as well at the moment.

Not looking good for us PPP guys/gals.

So full decat = remap.......ouch what are the affects of running a full decat but sticing with prodrive ecu just out of interest.

Ash

PS you could always sell the prodrive ecu must be worth a couple of hundred just a thought

Jim could you elaborate on the rev range at which you experienced higher IDC..?

I take it the car was mapped for the mods you're currently running..?

NO I run it with Prodrive ECU only and it drives fine, believe me!
Of course there are various versions of PPP remap mine is after 6th of 2004.
From what I know some previous versions do not have such tolerences to work with full decat. I had over 101% IDC more or less at 6000rpms but this for a very short period of 200-300rpms so it wasn't really a problem if you don't thrash all the time!
JIM

Forgot to mention I had some advance reduction between 5300-5800 before the STI I/C and STI spark plugs (BKR7EIX) witch is normal even in standard PPP WRXs. The bigger I/C along with colder plugs corrected this phenomenon perfectly even in our very hot summer!

Just to clarify, my full mods include:
-PPP ECU
-Scoobysport decated up-down pipes, factory center, factory STI back box
-USDM STI fuel pump (145lt/h instead of 130lt/h of the factory WRX pump)
-Uprated STI plugs
-AVO turbo inlet hose
-STI I/C and "Y" hose with modified standard underscoop, splitter and standard WRX hood scoop
-SARD catch can
With the above about 245ps/5650rpms-245lbft/3800rpms at the wheels measured with DD and 100 RON fuel we have here in Greece (BP ultimate or Shell racing).
I am quite happy how my car performs and is still safe IMHO especially after new plugs-fuel pump-I/C do you think?
JIM

PS:By the way how many PS are the above at the flywheel, do you people know?
