Apexi Power FC problem

Apexi Power FC problem
Hi Guys,
Just bought a power FC off ebay with commander. Swapped ECU it powers up ok.
Set the unit to default settings however the engine wont start. The UNit and commander seem to power up ok without any errors present. Is there anything special i have to do. The car is a 99 UK turbo2000.
I have read that the wires on the crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensors need swapping over but i havent done this yet any advice greatley appreciated.
PS the car starts no problem on the standard ECU
Cheers
Darren

You need to swap two adjacent wires on the top row of the blue plug of the ECU. Pins 4&5 IIRC but you need to confirm on a wiring diagram - download from Link ECU manual on MRT site.
I would cut them and then swap them over, solder and heatshrink.

You may also want to consider the default map is unsuitable for your car, you will blow it up !
This is not scaremongering, the sti maps will cause almost instant damage on a UK car.

Agree with Andy 100%, mapped a UK99 last week and had to take a lot of timing out to make it safe and adjust the fueling a lot etc..
I would say it will det over 0.7bar of boost.

Hi fellas Let me clarify,
The although the car is a UK car it has a modified STI 5 engine in. currently circa 360 bhp steel internals sti 9 crank, headers and APS cold air kit. I am not inteding to run the APEXI ecu until it is mapped I just want to get the car started on it so i know that the ecu works as I bought it from ebay. I have also just rebuilt the engine so its currently on next to no boost just the wastegate opening by its own spring 0.5bar and not reaching 4k rpm. Andy you mapped the engine before the big end went some 6 months ago.
It was an RB5 with lots of blue if you remember rightly.
Any way the plan is to test the apexi and make sure the car runs then run it in (using the standard ECU) and take it to Andy for mapping.
So could someone clarify if two of the wires need swapping and if they do which two.
Cheers

As above, and indeed the first reply to your question.
Depite your spec, it will still need to be remapped to run safely, especially with the APS CAK which will make an otherwise okay map run lean on boost.
