Default MY00 spark plugs gap

I had done a little research here and found that the most frequent recommendation is 0.7 mm gap. Looked to my service manual also and it says 1.0 - 1.1 mm, 0.7 for vehicles (it's a manual for Imprezas in general) without calatytic converter. So why SO MANY people recommend 0.7mm gap for classic Impreza turbo?

Your classic was decat?
So actually no one to contradict the user manual's claim? (silly question, indeed ) Really 1.1mm gap for my stock MY00? Anyone tried anything different?

Thats wrong, should be 0.7 - 0.8mm. If you try the bigger gap watch out for myisfiring on load. Cats make no difference.
