Default Lumpy start up from cold?

Hi All..

I have just purchased an 02 WRX STI and had it serviced at my local scooby dealer - 60k service

I noticed that from a cold start up the engine is sort of lumpy for about 2-3 mins, is this right? - my scooby dealer said this is right and to run it only on optimax.

when it has warmed up after 5 mins everything is fine.. it just seems a bit jumpy from cold..

thanks.

Mines like that to and has been since ive had it so dont worry,Shouldnt really be giving it loads of gas til its fully warmed up anyway,The oil takes at least twice as long as the coolant to get to a good operating temp .

Yes, it's a right Pig. It is improved a little with the PPP, just because there is a power lower down the revs, but not much.
Try reversing up a steep drive when it's cold.... You can't - It just won't go up.

PS: The MY02 STI REALLLLLLLLY NEEEEDDDS a PPP (or equivalent). The UK emission regs have completely strangled that car in standard form.

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, 3700rpm WOLLLLOP, rev limiter - does that sound familiar?
Not very passenger friendly I'm told....
