Oil Leak after Head Gasket Replacement

Oil Leak after Head Gasket Replacement
I had the cylinder head gaskets replaced last week after the usual water pressurising problem, had the head skimmed, pressure tested, gaskets replaced, new fluids, cam belt etc etc. immediately after collecting the car from the garage there was smoke / steam coming from the engine bay, I expected some due to spilt fluids etc, however this subsequently stopped after about 50 miles.
The problem now, is oil seeping from the seam on the tank on the top front left of the engine, the one with the metal cap, then collecting near the bolts, then eventually dripping onto the engine block causing a small puff of smoke, after a spirited drive there can be a fair amount of dripping and then smoke from the scoop and bonnet edge.
My question... is this normal (I suspect not) and what is the likely cause? I have an image but cant get it uploaded :-(
Many thanks
Dave

Pic below..... however, i'd say it's not oil, it's coolant, and due to the excess pressure that was caused by the head gasket failure.. it also popped the header tank.. so, in short.. you need another header tank mate!!

The stuff thats coming out is really viscous, like oil, I'd have expected it to be thinner?

Well, seeing as that is the colant header tank, unless they've put oil in it then it's more likely a good mix of antifreeze in there.... hence the oily burny type smell..... have fun trying to find a header tank.... they are known to split!

I can top the coolant up with distilled water right?

very common for that style of tank to have issues regardless......................
you can either modify a later 'ali' one off a v3>............or fit something like a "forge" aftermarket one
