Unhappy Ignition cut at 4500rpm + CEL Help!!!

Hi everyone, just wondering if you can help me out. I was getting a bit gas happy last night, and all of a sudden my car cut its ignition and the CEL came on, after that it would not let me go over 4500rpm without cutting the ignition again. Has anybody else experienced this? I've also noticed that it seems a bit rough at low rpm's while just pottering around. I've done a search and I've just ended up confused. It's a MY99 UK Turbo. Can I also add that my speedo has stopped working, would it have anything to do with that?

Yep, sounds like a faulty sensor, which has put your car in "limp home mode". Get to a dealer/specialist
