Thxs to suggestions yesterday about my oil smoke - it is the D/S rocker cover gasket.

Is it just a simple case of the eight bolts and the cover lifts off?

Yes. On ordering a new gasket, I was told that there were two types ( cross section, T-shape and normal..I think ) available and that the only way to determine what was on the car, was to take it off and look at it..... so I just bought both versions and the dealer kindly agreed to take back the unused gasket.
Most people recommend changing the spark plug, half moon and bolt gaskets at the same time and using gasket sealer.

I've got 6 rocker cover gaskets per side.....best do it from chassis number replace spark plug covers & washer cover bolt holes too

Sorry, I wasn't clear earlier....the dealer couldn't determine from the chassis number the type of gasket on the car.
