surely you wont be able to keep the standard airbox on either with a front mount...or can you?

Depends on which FMIC setup he's going for. The majority come up through the wing so no. But i'm sure a Pace one would go over the top or if the inlet has been rotated then it shouldn't be a problem. I personally would ditch the airbox and go for induction prior to a FMIC

Would go for a APS Cold Air Kit instead of 57i personally

You wont need injectors for 335bhp

Remap - AndyF mapped mine and I would recommend him to anyone

Turbo - TD05 works well on mine

Wouldnt bother with a uprated intercooler with the std TD04 turbo. If your wanting over 300bhp then you can either get a STi i/c or uprated TMIC or FMIC. I use a STi8 i/c on mine.

What sort of power are you after and how much you willing to spend?

Thanks lads. @ Bob I think id be happy with 300 or not far from it. Andy forrest is comeing over soon to map a few cars includeing mine. Ive the remap money put a side so really just a few grand left. What about a reconditioned tdo5 could that be an idea ?

What kind of money are new turbos going for ?

Thanks

Possibly an air leak mate.

K&N filters seem to be quite maf friendly. Td05´s nice and cheep and a good turbo, don´t need injectors for that power. VF35 would be better for 300bhp though. If you´ve got the self control to stick to 300, it´s a slippery slope. That was also my target, went clean through it about a year and a half ago. It keeps jumping up in about 50hp incriments every time I have spare cash.

I´d only go for a frontmount if you like prolonged running at license loosing speeds, for blasting around the place an sti8 topmount will do the job nicely with less lag.

Also if you´re sitting in hot weather traffic a bit tmic suffers heatsoak. I´d steer clear of the pace fmic too. Hybrid or APS would be my choice

Dave

Default Intercooler

Ok ive seen an sti top mount intercooler on flat4 performance and a helix one. Would the sti 7 one fit a 00 classic or would it need alot of diy work. And would it be as good as a FMIC.

Im looking at buying a second hand TD05 Turbo from one of the lads here.
Is there anything else i should be thinking about.

Thanks for the help lads.

Damien

For the STI7 to be effective you really need the splitter underneath and a bigger scoop. A good frontmount will get more cooling, but this may be off set by the ´feel´ due to the extra lag.

It is a good bit of DIY to fit one. A front mount is hardly changing a set of valve caps either though...

I'm on the same way. I bought STI8 Intercooler but and now considering about the STI8 style scoop as well. They are a bit expensive for me. Does anyone know any cheaper solutions?
