The bottom end went in my MY97 Legacy GTB last month so the engine needs to come out. I'm doing the work myself and am trying to decide whether I should get a new UK Turbo short block or rebuild the existing block.

Does anybody know if the pistons, rods etc in the new block are different than my 97 engine? Will the heads bolt on without modification? Does everything line up ok? My engine is essentially a MY97 JDM STI with a second turbo. IIRC the heads and internals are identical.
