Default VF23 to TD05/20G

Have various mods on my 97 v3 Sti:

Apexi Power FC
Apex Iduction
3" to 2.5" decat
IC water spray
Aquamist Water Injection
Parallel fuel rail mod
MSD fuel press reg (running 3 bar)

I'm looking for MORE at the top end and am well aware of the VF23's limited flow / boost abilities.

I have breifly looked at the VF22 as a direct swap out and am pretty sure i'd get some gain at an obvious lag cost..

Ultimately it looks like the TD05 / 20G is realistically the best choice - the question is though - what exactly needs to be done to fit it?

Does it just drop straight in or am I about to embark on a nightmare fettling job???

You'd probably be best advised to put bigger injectors (550 upwards) and a Warlbro 255 fuel pump on as well. What intercooler you using?

Std Sti v3 I/C but as I'm sprayin gthis shouldn;t bee toooooooo much of a problem - in any casse the TD05 shoul drun cooler at the same boost as it's more efficient at same boost..

More inerested in the actual process of fitting the turbo itself TBH..

Ok

Seeing as I havent fitted one myself yet, I cant help on that side of things, other than Im planning on a TD05/06 aswell, so going off what I've been advised to do in preperation for putting one on. There are a few other bits and pieces that you might want to look into such as new headers and up pipe too.

Im sure someone will be along soon thats actually done the fitting

All the best

std TMIC on your car will be a total waste of time adding a td05/06 turbo, you definately need a bigger tmic or a fmic, 20g is a direct fit just as said minimun 550 cc injectors are needed and good fuel pressure regulator

Just go to my Projects thread and all you need to know is right there.
The mods you have and a bigger TMIC will get you to 400 x 340 engine (ish)

Have fun

Graham.

cant comment directly on the 20g as Ive only seen one being fitted, but if my 18g housing is similar in size then with a little careful planning its simply enough to do.
rotate the regulator elbow to 12 o clock while the blower is off is my best piece of advice.

Peanuts is right, the FPR elbow does get in the way.
Ron's TD05 is a deal!
