tapping noise ????

tapping noise ????
i have a tapping noise coming from my left cylnder (n/s) can only hear it on idle also the rocker gasket has gone as its leaking oil could this be why?? any ideas??

S**t any oil leak is bad,is it a tap or knock,coz i woz told that main bearing No3 knocks if constantly driven hard through oil starvation...what year is it? and does it ave any oil left in it?

i live in northwich mate
i could arrange something for sat afternoon?
im at work all day 2moz, then tomorrow night me & mate are fitting me exedy 4.5kgs flywheel and ACT organic clutch
Should be done by late nightime iff not we will fin sat am.

rather than assume the worst, it may well be something like a loose spark plug. lifters should be hydraulic type in your year and can get a little noisy at times-your oil may be too light a grade. dont be worrying about "no3" bearing as you would hear that on all sides of the engine,particularly underneath.
