Default 02 WRX STI BUGEYE LAG

Hello, I have just purchased a 52 reg WRX STI. The problem is I'm finding it has no power until you get to 3.5-4K. Is this normal? If so is there anyway to sort this out.

Thanks for all your help

Stefan

My '01 WRX feels a little sluggish under 3k rpm's but it's booked in for it's 30k or 36 month service so hopefully it will sort it.

It's only done 25.5k miles but is 4 years old and the guy at Subaru said that the 30k service is the first one where they change the plugs and that they're short after 30k miles.

How many miles has yours done and is the servicing up to date?

They do lag a bit until you wind them up - If you need to get the power down in a hurry then hold the revs with your right foot and feed the clutch in, you'll find she leaps away like a rocket - Can be hard on your clutch though so save it for special occasions!!!
I find a quick blip of the intercooler spray just before you put your toe down helps too.
