Default AWD?

can anyone define awd, i.e same power to all 4 wheels / locked dif i.e landrover? or what...., in leymans terms please.

AWD = All Wheel drive. Means just that - all wheels are driven by the engine.

there is an elliptical diff arrangement between front & rear giving a roughly 65% rear and 45% front split on the STI. I think the WRX is nearer 50/50 split.

The STI has a Ltd slip diff on the front, the WRX does not to my knowledge
