Default misfire on WOT

I have a 1998 type R and since i fitted a walbro fuel pump is seems to have aquired a misfire. The car drives fine if you drive 'sensibly' but if you plant your foot it misses like mad, could it be just the plugs/leads breaking down or is it a bit more involved?

Question

Is it not over fueling maybe, did you cut of the 12 to 9 volt resistor?

just a thought though!

Yes i removed the resistor. After trawling through numerous posts on the resistor issue i decided to remove it and store it somewhere so im running at the full 12v i thought it might be pumping too much fuel in and flooding the engine at WOT but wasnt sure.I'll whip the plugs out tomorrow and give them a clean and a re-gap and see how it goes.Hopefully once the remap has been done it will run sweet again as it was only mapped for the std pump first time round

I would say the pump coul dbe a coincidence and plugs and coils are first port of call. Running a bit too rich won't cause a misfire would it?

I agree it could be over fueling due to pump and standard reg..

worth replacing plugs though.. set the gaps at 0.7mm etc..
