Question PPP how much power on a bugeye

I own a MY02 WRX with warranty still on for about 1 year, so upgrading leaves me with the PPP only option. The question I have is do any of you know what is the power/torque increase I will get ? And how would the car feel ? I do recall that earlier PPP added just about 20-25 BHP but according to Subaru the current package is for about 40 BHP. So I wonder if I can get the same package and make form my 218 about 258 ? Any experiences ?

B.

i had my WRX (late 01) fitted with the PPP at the end of last year as well as extending the Warranty, fitting Alcons and prodrive springs.

the earlier WRX PPP does not give as much of a power increase as the current model because of the exhaust/turbo system having additional restriction.

however the difference in performance and drivability is amazing and the best money i have spent on the car

it is not the bhp increse you need to think about but the torque curve which is now like a 'table' from 3000 rpm

get a test drive in a WRX with PPP and you will be sold

thanks trubwrx.
So then I understan correctly that I'd also get the better upgrade. I know that the torque is the one for acceleration, but I'm also interested in the bhp, since that gives extra max speed

if you took your car in now and asked for a PPP you would get the 03 level version i believe, so the 261bhp as aposed to the 245 which was a piggyback ECU..

Yes, I hope so, this is what I'm after anyway. My bugeye is quite "unique", in the sense that it weights 1440 kg. Has side airbags and some other stuff which makes it 100 kg more than the normal standard bugeye, so I figured I really need the PPP.
I know I soundn't ask this but just for my curiosity: could anybody tell me how much extra was the consuption ? I average around 12 - 13 liters/100 km currently and is it fair to assume that this would go up with about 10 % ?

i think its fairly negligable....some people find its better with PPP, some worse...depends how you drive.

How can your car weigh 1440??? thats mad...ive got the side airbags and everything too in my 03 but it still had a kerb weight of 1385?

prodrive told me that you get the latest techology in the PPP but the 01 WRx Bugeye (with latest technology PPP) is not quite as powerful as the current WRX with PPP

Thanks, I know I really don't know all details, but this is it, airco and side spoilers and don't know what else... I figure there could be some safety features which I don't know. Maybe I should really go somewhere and weight it, just to be sure. This data is in the car's registration paper, but I have the car's original certificate of origin issued by Subaru Japan and it is clearly written the 1440 ...

Well I can live with that. 261ish would be enough, but 245 is not worth the money in my view.

Not true - same TD04 turbo on all UK WRX's (i.e. 01 onwards), I believe. OEM exhaust may have changed a little on the blobeye versus bugeye, although any aftermarket exhausts will fit either just the same.
