Car started this morning but wouldn't run then sorted itself - MAF or what??
I did a 140 mile run to visit rellies on Tuesday and my car (MY98 with 29k miles) sat outside unused until this morning. It started first turn as usual and then immediately stopped. It just wouldn't idle unless it got some revs and then it seemed rough and 'hunting' a bit. By the time I gave up the engine was warm. I went to phone the AA but gave it one more go after it had been sitting for 10 minutes and it started and ran fine. It pulled like a train for the 140 miles home and has started every time since (although it hasn't been fully cold). It has a Power FC and lots of gauges and everything read normal while everything under the bonnet was fine. Could this be a MAF problem or what? I could do with some pointers, please, in case it happens again.

Floyd...Nope. Original MAF
s70rjw..Good advice. I have a tendency to change everything 'just in case'. It's a confidence thing I suppose. I did think that it might be damp at first (the wrapped headers were steaming like a kettle) that was then dried off by the warm engine but I've never had anything like this with it before and I've had it since new.
