For the mods you have, its not worth going for a FMIC, an uprated TMIC or a splitter to give you better air flow would be a sounder investment.

At the moment, the most bhp your going to gain with mods is around the 270bhp mark, you will have to look at more things first before you go for a FMIC depending on what you want power wise as the more power you want from your car, the more expensive it will become, as parts like gearboxes and clutches have a tendancy not to be able to handle over 300lbs of torque quite well (plus there is the insurance side, you may be shocked at how expensive it may become there also )

What is your aim, where do you want to finish up?

cheers tony
i want around the 300bhp mark.
on my last scoob i uprated the top mount fitted, an apexi boost controller, uprated fuel pump and regulator etc etc.it was fast but it took so long to get it right.
i just want more power for as little cost possible.i spent in the region of £6k on my last one,i dont want to do that again.
i was thinking if i put a front mount on and upt the boost that might work.
wot you think?

cheers scott

The problem is your turbo is so small (and injectors too) it doesn't really suit a FMIC. To get 300bhp you will have to change both, and as such either remap ecu or new ecu.

The cost of FMICs has tumbled tho and are now cheaper than many TMICs, they add a nice bit of safety magin from heat soak. This is when most of my det 'event's happen with TMIC.

A TD05 will achieve 300bhp easily, tops out at about 340-350bhp. The standard injectors are 380cc, 440cc will do for 300bhp (you may even get away with the 380s but they will not have much of a margin left).... 350bhp is possible on those with a tweak of the fuel pressure. 550ccs for anything up to about 440bhp.

You need 440cc injectors for 300bhp though the ones you have can achieve the figure wanted, though towards their top end so not recommended really.
For tuning of MY97's you want to speak to Rich Wild at Jap Innovations, he had (has) his car running at something like 380bhp (www.jap-innovations.co.uk) and will always give advice

Yes... ealily get 300bhp but yes you need a remap. Maybe consider an Apexi Power FC ecu for about £750 fitted and mapped (Rich Wild also hs one of those iirc).
