Pro-VA ecu and fuel cut?
Pro-VA ecu and fuel cut?
Gents,
Its been advised that I run 1.2bar of boost on my current setup, however I have a bit of a problem, unless boost is set at .95 bar the car has a problem, when set to anything above this when reaching this boost level it stutters, like holds back.. almost as if hitting overboost protection. Is this fuel cut, as I always understood fuel cut in my MR2 Turbo days as a sudden "hitting a brick wall" feeling. If this is indeed fuel cut, with me having a Pro-VA ecu, can I just fit an FCD as normal?
Much thanks for the advice.

You shouldn't need to fit an FCD to a Prova ECU. The fuel cut is set at 19.6psi, which is well ouside the limit of the standard map sensor.
The target boost is set to 16.42psi, so it should be OK hitting 1.1-1.2bar under ECU control.
Are you sure the Prova ECU is set to run the prova map i.e the J1 link resistor is removed/cut.
Unless your head is hitting the winderscreen I would suggest that is the coil packs or plugs. i.e weak spark getting blown out by the boost.
