i have a 2002 wrx which has full de-cat sti intercooler uprated fuel pump filter and dv 12 dump valve and a tek 3 remap which is runing about 270-280 bhp my question is if i fitted a tdo5 18g turbo and a set of sti injectors wot sort of power gains would i reach .cheers . Oh and also would i need to change the manifold or would the standard one cope MOMO

18g's are good for 380bhp (true bhp) but on some rollers 400bhp. Its what i tend to read on here. You could say a safe 370-380bhp mod dependent.

The standard manifold is pretty good but for ultimate power gains you would be better with a wrapped tubular manifold. You also may need an uprated fuel pressure regulator and definitely a remap. hope that helps

Why does everyone bang on about uprated FPR? Bob Rawle advised me there was no need to change the FPR on most cars unless using small injectors, or going for big power.

My car (STI4) makes 383bhp/340lbft on a standard FPR.

Not saying is wrong, but i think it's a bit of a misconception that it's a must have upgrade.

the standard pressure reg spring tends to go weak when running an uprated pump, thats why an uprated reg is advised in general.

as you say though in some cases its not needed
