Question PFR7B's or 8's

the car is off the road at the moment, but when its up and running it will be in the 360bhp region. its been running at 305bhp quite happily with PFR7B's in, but i have been advised that i should put 8's in it now.

what do you fellas think? are any of you big hosepower boys on 7's?

the car is a daily driver, and will be subjected to traffic jams and low speed running, as well as the odd track day.

I've run 8's in the car before and have been great on power, but make the car run a little rough on idle and round town.

I have built a few everyday cars running 370 bhp up here and the 7's are fine (so far!) at 0.7mm gap.

Horses for courses!

ps - I'll be running 8's in mine (380/360 estimate), even though I have to pay £70 for a set! but the car is only used 5 months of the year and is not really a day-to-day car!

Mark, Honestly think the 7's will be fine. They are in mine, and I have taken the gap down to 0.6mm I think.

Do the same with yours and it will be fine I reckon.

cheers wuz/pickle , i suspected as much.

was advised by RCM to put 8's in but was worried about low speed running / fouling. thought maybe a 90ish bhp increase in power over standard did not warrant 2 plug grades up from the 6's myself as well, and as wuz says they are not cheap. especially as the 7's in it have only done about 1K.
