Default Can the MAF sensors be cleaned????

I took the car to the garage with hesitation/surging and they called to say that they had cleaned the MAF and it seems to have cured it - Probably dont wanna put a new one on as it will cost them as it is under warranty.

Has anyone ever cleaned the MAF before? Does it work?

Cheers

Stuart

I would guess they squirted carb cleaner into the intake??

Let us know if its improved the car?

Ask them how they cleaned it and report back!

Hmm - Personally would not feel comfortable if it were my own car - would want to fit a new as a matter of course!

Hot wire ones can allegedly be carefully cleaned. 99/00 thin film should be replaced...
