STI 5 Type R Boost Problems
Dear All,
I have a '99 STI 5 Type R, which is fully standard (except LHD ), meaning that it has the standard VF28 Turbo as well.
However, according to my knowledge it should have a boost of 1 Bar with 1.2 Bar as overboost... It has been measured with Ecutek (and also mechanical boost pressure meter) and it can only give 0.75 - 0.8 Bar of boost. (and very low performance values )
We have tried on different intercooler (same low boost), tried different MAP sensor (same low boost). Changed exhaust back to a brand new fully original STI 5 (same low boost). What the hell is going on? (It has covered around 84k kms (45k miles))
If there's any solution, please let me know, since I want to prove that the car is capable of certain performance as standard, so unless it is absolutely a must, I will change the turbo.
1more question....
If necessary, Can a VF39 be a straight fit to my car (stated above)?
What other turbo would you suggest? I wish to stick with ball bearing...
Thanks in advance...
Cheers,
R.
