Cleaning Boost Solonold
#2
It can be a benefit if it has clogged up. There are more detailed instructions on the forum if you do a search but basically...
1) Disconnect the vacuum pipes (remembering which ones are which. You may also want to clean them through as they will be where any crud is coming from.)
2) Connect the green self test connectors under the dash.
3) Turn on ignition.
4) Your fan and various other things will start to operate and the solenoid should start clicking.
5) Spray some brake cleaner into the vacuum ports and allow to drain.
6) Turn off ignition.
7) Disconect self test leads.
8) Reconnect vacuum hoses.
9) Pat self on back
10) Go for drive/pint*
*delete as applicable.
A fouled up solenoid can be the result of overfilling the engine with oil so worth checking the level in case you are going to have to repeat the exercise, though on a '94 it may be that it has just had a fair amount of time to get mucky.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
