Car takes ages to turnover
Seems to be a fairly random problem but sometimes the car takes a good while to start. The car turns over but nothing seems to happen until i give it some gas? Any ideas what it could be, I thought it might be the battery on its way out again? Although it was replaced about 6months ago.
The only engine mods on the car are back box, dump valve and panel filter
I'm stumped!
Any ideas folks?
Iain

Faulty coolant temperature switch will also give similar problems, would expect a faulty crank sensor to give problems once the engine is running but a faulty temp sensor would be fairly latent once you actually get the engine fired up.
You can check the resistance across the sensor and compare the readings when cold and when hot, should give you an indication if it's knackered (ie same resistance for both states=knackered)
