Strange noise at 1,750 rpm
Since I had the de-cat front pipe fitted to my '93 WRX, it has developed a strange metallic vibrating noise whilst in any gear going up and letting it go down the revs at about 1,750 rpm. Definitely seems to be coming from under the bonnet somewhere.
The heat shield under the bonnet is gone and all exhaust components are now stainless steel, so no heat shields there either.
The gearbox works fine in all gears and the clutch is the same as it was.
It doesnt seem to be getting any worse, but it is becoming embaressing as pedestrians think my car is broken, its that loud
Anyone heard of this before?

My downpipe had a support bracket further down which was not connected. It was juts resting against another bracket. I juts bent the bracket out the way which stopped the buzzing sound.

check the supports, and if downpipe is firmly secured.
One way to test it is lifting the car (the all 4) and put the engine to work at that rpm, and someone rapidly can check the cause.
Other way is with engine cold shake the downpipe, uppipe etc by hand to see if anything is a bit loose.
