Unhappy Boot full of water!!!!!

HI guys, need some help here, i've got a lot of water in the boot recesses at the side of the car, if you know what i mean. (can take photo's if required!)
I have looked under the car in the recess areas and there seems to be a plug that has a slice taken out at the bottom, i assume these are drain holes? or should this plug have been sealed?
Any help would be good and i can post pic's!

cheers
James

Car is a Bugeye.

Water is almost certainly coming in round the rear light cluster. Used to be a big problem but I thought it was cured now! Remove the 5 nuts and push out the cluster and put lots of goey stuff around the hole.

If the rear lights are fine it will be the spoiler, probably where the wiring goes through the boot for the brake light, seal all the holes while your at it on the spoiler, (Wire hole and 4 x 10mm studs)

same happend to mine it turned out to be that the boot seal was not on properly - make sure its pushed on right

the grommet on my00 it on the side (doing nothing) i had to soak up the water with a sponge - since i have pushed the seal on properly ive had no trouble.

This is the black seal that goes the width of the boot? You mean take this off and jam it back down?

Jammers, if you can't figure where it's coming from, try removing the boot liner, climbing into the boot, and getting someone you trust to spray the rear of the car with a hose..... just make sure they let you out!!

PS< you may need a torch doh!

hey mate i had same problem, i had changed my rear lights to afterburners so i put clear mastic around them etc all seems fine. However it could also be due to condemsation with the boot getting hot/cold etc from the zorst, put a hole in each of the rubber grommets in the bottom of the wheel well to help air circulate a bit. Either way which ever the problem was its now a nice dry boot.
p.s dont laugh at the condensation theory - i had water everywhere in the lid when you lifted it and down the sides so may not have been the lights!

i went through all the advice above on mine last year and still did not solve it

either side of the classic boot has the recess`s as posted above, they have vents in one side and a blanking plate in the other, they are large square plastic things

mine were leaking around the seal, although this probably happed when the back end was stripped down for paint

Ive just cured my leaking boot. The pool of water was where the spare wheel sits. I removed all the fittings from the boot area, folded down the rear seats and got the wife to spray the boot, while I watched for leaks. The water was coming in under the rubber seal around the boot. To cure the leak I removed the rubber boot seal and run a bead of black silicon in the groove on the rubber seal which sit over the metal lip. Let it cure over night and then sprayed again, no more leaks.

It quite easy to trace on the subaru due to its folding rear seats.

This used to happen to my classic scoob, when ever I parked it on my slopey drive backwards when ever it rained over night the water used to be in the boot and the footwells etc.
