Coil Packs? Advice needed

Coil Packs? Advice needed
When starting car from cold it will sometimes splutter while trying to accelerate. When the engine has warmed up it seems to be fine?
A few months ago i replaced one of the coil packs and changed the spark plugs due to it misfiring in cylinder 4
Could this be early warning signs that coil packs are about to pack in again??? also recently noticed that when driving hard it wont go past around the 5500rpm mark as the revs will just drop to 0 and engine start to splutter and notice smoke coming out of the exhaust!??! Any ideas?
Please help as i am getting over taken by all sorts as i cant out acclerate anyone!!!

col packs do need replacing and your description sounds like coil packs.. worth replacing the other three. They seem to last about 100k or 5years or so before starting to show signs.. earlier if running high boost.
