Default Scooby Type R

Hi Folks, I was on here a good while ago, I had a big horsey WRX RA, She's been sold and is now a Group N rally car. Anyways I'm debating buying a Type R 97 or 98. Now my question is what are the pro's and cons of this type of Scoob. They have a adjustable diff? Does this weaken the lifespan of the diffs??
Also hows easy is it to map them for 95 RON?

Cheers folks.

its the same as the wrx sti RA. the diff is in the open position(off) and you dont really need to use it unless on a track day. it will easily out last the car. never use it on gravel setting(full lock) unless on gravel rally stage lol, as it will wind up the diff and break

So best to not play with the settings then, I knew someone who liked to leave it at the rear setting alot. Made for a very tail happy car. So in theory setting it to the rear will damge the diff.
I know that in's and outs of the engine but it's the adjustable diff that has me worried cos I know I'm gonna be like a kid with a new toy.

I had a bit of advice, leave it in the full open position On straight ish roads, if it rains and the car feels 'Nervous' take it up one notch , say intermitant wipers 1 notch and full wipers 1 more. Gunning it and wet and far to 'Tail happy' take it one or two more. Best advice is slow down a bit

yes have a play BUT in a safe invirolment it's about learning the Cars and your abilities but playing can put strain on the car and possibly Pocket

imho

Tony

it wont be tail happy unless you really really push it. if u suffer from understeer then move it up 3-4 positions to take the diff lock more to the front i.e 55-45 instead of 77/33 split and you will get more grip at the front. smooth driving and you shouldnt have any probs with the rear unless its wet then dont even bother to drive fast unless you know what ur doing, diff or no diff.
