Default WRX RA Help

Hi,

I've just bought a 97 WRX RA, I have noticed a violent brief loss of power when pushing hard in fourth gear, reading past threads I'm assumimg this is probably fuel cut?
My problem is that there is no Dawes device, boost control fitted, Its just got a Pipercross induction kit and a stainless exhaust.
I have also checked the ECU and it seems to be standard [6Z13]
Any thoughts on this?

Just another quickie, the car is supposed to have had a full engine rebuild done by ScoobyTek on the 9th of last year at a cost of £2500, I have emailed them to confirm this but have had no reply, are they a well known firm?
Cheers,
Lee.

Sounds like the fuel cut. If you have a decat it could be over boosting, mine done the same even though there is no manual boost controler. There is a small restrictor in the pipe running from the waist gate to the turbo, this can be removed and then a manual boost controller can be fitted to lower the boost....
