dose any one how many hours it takes to strip a bottom end and renew it with new shells and how much a set of shells would cost roughly for a classic scooby my93 thanks neil

genuine shells are around £100...............if it needs shells then no doubt it needs other stuff also, what exactly is your issue??? gasket kit is around £250inc..........

time wise we normally take around 3-4 days to strip clean and inspect an engine and then re-build with new or checked components ready to replace in the car.........depends on how 'finicky' you want to be???

not heard much about pistoin slap on the early one could be wrong though(mine to being a 93wrx) just had rebuild myself. speak to dave at api for parts mate. Probably your big end bearings worn and then will mark the crank.

and as stock car says it is a good few days work and alot of messing mate. good luck to you. Good tip is to replace more parts than required i.e ALL of the oil seals both sets of bearings etc, if you can even though its expensive stuff but will save the time and more money if its all coming out again because you thought a part was ok - i had this with rear crank oil seal - bludi nightmare, can get the engine stripped and out in an hour now!!! lol!!!
